Father's Day is coming up next week in the USA and my dad has been a big help to me in creating my videos for my channel. He's my cameraman and I love him very much. He is a traditionalist when it comes to meatloaf- he doesn't like meatloaf without any actual meat in it and most of my meatloaf creations are made with tofu, so this meatloaf is extra special. The meatloaf he likes has to be savory and not sweet. He actually ate it for dinner.
But that's not my only inspiration for this meatloaf. In case you haven't heard, Olive Garden just added two new menu items- they're both sandwiches in which the bread is the restaurant's famous breadsticks. Disclaimer and note: I am NOT sponsored by Olive Garden. One of the items is a breadstick meatball sandwich. I ordered some breadsticks over the Internet. In addition, I bought some butter spray and Olive Garden's garlic and herb seasoning at a local supermarket because Olive Garden's breadsticks are buttery and garlicky. I initially thought the white stuff on Olive Garden's meatballs in the sandwich was mozzarella cheese but when I read the actual description of this menu item, it turns out that it's actually Alfredo sauce. Why anyone would want a sandwich with Alfredo sauce AND tomato sauce on it is beyond my comprehension though. Besides, mozzarella is something my dad likes and this is a meatloaf for Father's Day after all. When all is said and done, the meatloaf probably didn't taste like the actual breadstick meatball sandwich at Olive Garden. Not that I actually tried it, although I would like to someday. I think the tomato sauce evaporated during the cooking of the meatloaf. :( But it was cheesy and slightly garlicky, but not enough of a garlic taste to repel the vampires from Twilight or even Dracula himself. :) For the cooking vessel, you will need: 1 Lasagna Pan Nonstick cooking spray For the actual meatloaf, you will need: 1/2 sauteed onion 2 beaten eggs 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese 1/2 cup of tomato sauce 3/4 cup of crushed garlic breadsticks Garlic and herbs to taste Salt to taste Black pepper to taste Butter spray to taste 1 pound of 93% ground beef 1. Wash your hands. :) 2. Put the sauteed onion and beaten eggs into a large bowl. 3. Add the mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce to the mixture in the large bowl. 4. Crush some garlic breadsticks with your hands(or put them in a food processor) until you get 3/4 of a cup of that ingredient. 5. Put crushed garlic breadsticks in the mixture. 6. Add garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper to mixture. 7 Spray the mixture with some butter spray. 8. Add the ground beef. I tore the ground beef into smaller pieces and added those pieces into the mixture until the ground beef covered all the ingredients beneath it. Some people just put the entire pound of ground beef into the mixture but do what makes you happy. 9. Mix all the ingredients in the large bowl together until the ingredients are distributed evenly among the mixture. 10. Spray a lasagna pan with nonstick cooking spray. 11. Form two loaves from the meatloaf mixture. 12. Put in 350 degree Fahrenheit oven until the internal temperature of the ground beef is 165 degrees Fahrenheit. It took 65 minutes for that to happen for me, but YMMV(your mileage may vary; it's Internet slang. Get used to it.) 13. Bon appetit!

You may be wondering why I called this meatloaf "French Toast Gone Wild". Well, to me the "Gone Wild" part means it's got every version I could find of a particular ingredient or dish. In this case, I was able to find frozen French Toast that can be cooked in a microwave, French Toast Crunch cereal, and 3 varieties of French Toast-flavored donuts that are limited edition at a local supermarket I shop at. It's also a reference to those explicit "Girls Gone Wild" videos from the '90s and 2000s. Because to me, my meatloaf has gone wild. And so have I apparently. Here's the recipe: For the cooking vessel, you will need: 1 Lasagna Pan Nonstick cooking spray For the actual meatloaf, you will need: 1/2 sauteed onion(I sauteed mine in olive oil but you could use other types of cooking oils) 2 beaten eggs 1/2 cup of ketchup(I was going to put 1/2 cup of maple syrup but I thought that would make the meatloaf taste too sweet). 1/4 cup of French Toast Crunch cereal 1 slice of French Toast(either microwaved from a frozen state or if you're adventurous, you could use your own homemade French Toast. But in my opinion, that's too much culinary effort to put in for just one ingredient in a meatloaf) 1 plain French Toast donut 1 powdered French Toast donut 1 cinnamon French Toast donut Cinnamon to taste Maple syrup to taste(to me, you can't have French Toast without cinnamon and maple syrup) Black pepper to taste Salt to taste 1 pound of chopped & drained extra firm tofu 1. Wash your hands. :) 2. Put first four ingredients in a large bowl. 3. Tear the donuts and French Toast slice into the smallest pieces possible(or you could use a food processor to do the job for you). 4. Put torn ingredients in the large bowl. 5. Add the last five ingredients in the large bowl. 6. Mix all the ingredients together using a large spoon. 7. Spray lasagna pan with nonstick cooking spray. 8. Form two loaves from the mixture. 9. Bake in oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 40-45 minutes. 10. Bon appetit! I was going to make a meatloaf solely out of Red Velvet Oreo Cookies but I only had 9 and I figured out it takes 14 Oreos to make a meatloaf. Coincidentally, I had 5 S'mores Oreo Cookies left from one of the two boxes I had. Besides, the expiration date of the Red Velvet Oreo cookies was June 10th. You're probably not going to find Red Velvet Oreo cookies anymore since they were limited edition and initially released in February for Valentine's Day. Someday I will create another Red Velvet Meatloaf that doesn't use Oreo cookies of that particular flavor. Here's the recipe anyway: For the cooking vessel, you will need: 1 Lasagna Pan Nonstick cooking spray For the actual meatloaf, you will need: 1/2 a sauteed onion 2 beaten eggs 9 Red Velvet Oreo Cookies 5 S'mores Oreo Cookies(note: you probably shouldn't be putting Oreo cookies in your meatloaf if you are diabetic or sensitive to sugar. I'm just saying.) 1 pound of drained, chopped extra firm tofu Salt and pepper 1. Wash your hands! :) 2. Put first two ingredients in a large bowl. 3. Separate the cream and the cookie of each Oreo cookie. 4. Crush all the cookies into the smallest pieces you can manage or you can dump them in a food processor. 5. Put the cream and crushed cookies into the large bowl. 6. Add salt and pepper. 7. Mix all the ingredients until ideally, the cookies and cream are distributed evenly among the mixture. Since the cream is so thick, you probably will need to use your hands to mix all the ingredients if you want the cream to be distributed evenly in the meatloaf. 8. Spray lasagna pan with nonstick cooking spray. 9. Form two loaves from the mixture. 10. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 minutes. 11. Bon appetit! The hype over S'mores Oreo Meatloaf on the Internet may have died down a bit, but hopefully this recipe will go viral. A girl can only dream, right? People on the Internet have complained this variety of Oreos doesn't taste that much like actual s'mores. Well, I have a solution: my S'mores Oreo Meatloaf. For the cooking vessel, you will need: 1 Lasagna Pan Nonstick cooking spray For the actual meatloaf, you will need: 1/2 a sauteed onion 2 beaten eggs 14 S'mores Oreo Cookies(note: you probably shouldn't be putting Oreo cookies in your meatloaf if you are diabetic or sensitive to sugar. My inspiration for this meatloaf was an anti-bullying commercial I saw in 2004 or 2005 about a kid with disabilities being bullied at lunch time because he liked to put Russian dressing on his pizza. I tried that myself at the time(I was in 8th grade then) and it tasted delicious, albeit it is unhealthy, given the fat content of Russian dressing. But YOLO(you only live once)! I remember telling my science teacher about my crazy combination and she thought it was disgusting. Like I said, I have a crazy good memory. This unusual combination is perfect for the drunchies and I would imagine it would be good stoner food(Note: I don't use marijuana and I only drink alcohol on the holidays). Here is the recipe: For the cooking vessel, you will need: 1 lasagna pan Nonstick cooking spray For the actual meatloaf, you will need: 1/2 a sauteed onion(I sauteed mine in olive oil but you could use whatever your little heart desires) 2 beaten eggs(I find that if you don't beat the eggs, then you will end up with some of the egg turning out to taste like an omelet. Not that that's a bad thing, but it kind of is if you don't want an omelet meatloaf) 1 cup of crushed pizza flavored goldfish 1/2 cup of Russian dressing 1 pound of extra firm tofu, drained and chopped Salt and black pepper 1. Wash your hands. :) 2. Put all meatloaf ingredients into a large bowl. 3. Mix all ingredients together until the sauce and goldfish are evenly distributed among the mixture. 4. Spray lasagna pan with nonstick cooking spray. 5. Form two loaves from the mixture. 6. Preheat oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 40-45 minutes. 7. Bon appetit! If you are reading this article, you are probably a fan of the Meatloaf Princess channel and you have noticed all of my videos up until this point were about tofu meatloaves. I did that because tofu has no flavor so you can make tofu taste like whatever you want, which is perfect for sweet meatloaf creations. But I am not a vegetarian and sometimes you are craving for some meat to eat(hey, that rhymes!). Besides, you can make really good meatloaf using actual meat, provided you have all the spices right and what you put in the meatloaf actually will be compatible with the meat part of it(hint: beef has a very strong flavor, so if you put chocolate chips in a beef meatloaf, it's still going to taste like beef.) But I digress. The inspiration for my 11-spice chicken meatloaf is KFC(Kentucky Fried Chicken) chicken. Sort of. The official leaked spice recipe has Accent, which has MSG(monosodium glutamate) and I'm not a fan of MSG. I just found this particular spice blend by some random Internet citizen on a recipe sharing website I frequent. You may be asking, "Why make meatloaf taste like KFC chicken when you can get the real thing?" My response to that question would be, "1. I'm too lazy to wait in line at the drive-thru for it. And 2. I want to experiment with different meats and flavors- because I am the Meatloaf Princess. Duh!" Here's the recipe. Hint: 1 pinch of something = 1/16 teaspoon: For the pan, you will need: 1 lasagna pan Nonstick cooking spray For the meatloaf, you will need: 1/2 onion sauteed in olive oil 1 pound of ground chicken 2 eggs 1/2 cup of ketchup(because fried chicken goes well with ketchup) 1 cup of whole wheat breadcrumbs(my imitation of the "breading"; technically, you use flour to fry chicken, rather than breadcrumbs) Pinch of salt 1/2 tsp. garlic powder Pinch of oregano Pinch of sage Pinch of black pepper Pinch of celery salt 1/2 tsp onion powder Pinch of basil Pinch of chili powder Pinch of allspice Pinch of marjoram 1/2 tsp paprika 1. Wash your hands, especially when dealing with raw poultry. 2. Put all meatloaf ingredients in large bowl. 3. Mix the ingredients up until there is a nice, even consistency, especially with the eggs. 4. Spray lasagna pan with nonstick cooking spray. 5. Form two loaves in lasagna pan from meatloaf mixture. 6. Bake in oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until internal temperature of meatloaf is 170 degrees Fahrenheit. You can measure the internal temperature using a meat thermometer(it took an hour for my meatloaf to cook, but YMMV, depending on how thick your meatloaf is.) 7. Bon appetit! This year, there has been this fuss on the Internet to bring back one of my favorite cereals from the 1990s, French Toast Crunch. The Internet has gotten its wish and French Toast Crunch cereal made its return to supermarket shelves. I was fortunate enough to snag a box of this cereal. Of course, being the Meatloaf Princess, I wanted to put said cereal into a meatloaf. Thus French Toast Crunch Meatloaf was born. You will need: 1/2 onion, sauteed in olive oil 2 eggs(I didn't beat them this time) 1 cup of French Toast Crunch cereal 1/4 cup of ketchup Approximately 1 tablespoon of maple syrup(you can add more or less, depending on your mood for sweet things) About 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon Pinch of salt 1 pound of extra firm tofu, chopped Nonstick cooking spray Lasagna pan 1. Wash your hands. 2. Put first 8 ingredients in large bowl. 3. Mix up the ingredients. 4. Spray nonstick cooking spray on lasagna pan. 5. Form two loaves from the mixture using hands 6. Bake in oven for 40-45 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. 7. Bon Appetit! This is my recipe for my French Fry Cookie Meatloaf. I came up with this idea from two foods I remembered eating in 2nd grade: french fries at the field trip to the Museum of Natural History and an activity my class did when we were learning about paleontology/dinosaurs. That activity involved each kid getting 1 chocolate chip cookie. Each kid had to "excavate" the cookie for chocolate chips. I remember finding 12 chips in my cookie, which is why I put 12 chocolate chips in this recipe. Fun fact: The kid with the most amount of chips in her cookie had 38 chips! I have a very good memory since that was in 1999. Anyways, enough reminiscing. Here's the recipe. You will need: 1/2 onion, sauteed in olive oil 2 eggs, beaten 1/2 cup of chopped French Fries(see Note on bottom) 1/2 cup of chopped Chocolate Chip Cookies(I used the Chips Ahoy brand; this is approximately 5 cookies) 12 chocolate chips(or how many you want in your meatloaf. The choice is yours.) Pinch of Black Pepper Pinch of Kosher Salt 1 pound of extra firm tofu, chopped Nonstick cooking spray 1 Lasagna Pan 1. Wash your hands. :) 2. Put first 8 ingredients in large bowl, except for the chocolate chips. 3. Mix ingredients in large bowl into mixture. Ideally, you want all the ingredients to be distributed evenly throughout the mixture. 4. Spray lasagna pan with nonstick cooking spray. 5. Form 2 loaves in the lasagna pan using your hands. 6. If you want, you can make a smiley face on your meatloaf using the chocolate chips. 7. After preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, put loaves in the oven for 40-45 minutes. 8. Bon appetit! Note: You should use French Fries that are already cooked but cooled down in a refrigerator. I put my fries in the fridge for an hour after they were done baking to make them have a soft "leftover" texture. Don't use raw French Fries in your meatloaf. Note 2: You probably shouldn't be putting chocolate chips or chocolate chip cookies in your meatloaf if you are diabetic or sensitive to sugar. This is my recipe for my Banana Curry Raisin Meatloaf. I got my inspiration for this recipe from food I remember having when I was in 7th grade. The banana muffin represents the first time I tried tofu. I put the tofu on a slice of banana bread for lunch and the other students thought I was weird. Sadly, I couldn't find banana bread in the supermarket and I was too lazy to make my own just for this meatloaf. The raisins represent the time I dragged my friends and mom to supermarkets all across the county just for "baking raisins", which are just raisins soaked in water that are more expensive than plain raisins. At the time, I was obsessed with getting my mom to make pancakes by putting ingredients like fruits or baking chips into the batter. Sadly, this obsession ended when she got sick from pancreatic cancer in my senior year of high school. Now I know today that plain raisins are sufficient for baking food. The curry powder represents the time I visited my dad's workplace, which is a local university that was later my alma mater. The university had an Asian restaurant on campus and that was the location of my first exposure to Indian food. I don't remember which type of curry I ate, except for two facts: 1. I didn't eat any white rice with the curry(they didn't have brown rice). 2. The curry was so spicy I had to drink 7 bottles of water to satisfy my burning mouth. Moral of the story: Always have rice or some sort of carbohydrate with curry. Anyways, enough reminiscing. Here is the recipe. You will need: 1/2 onion, sauteed in olive oil 2 eggs, beaten 1/3 cup raisins 1/2 cup of a crumbled up banana nut muffin(note: muffins vary in size but I used a pretty big muffin and only used half of the muffin itself) 1/2 cup of crumbled up Pizza Goldfish(approximately 100 goldfish) 1 tablespoon of curry powder Pinch of salt 1 pound of extra firm tofu, chopped Nonstick Cooking spray Lasagna Pan 1. Wash your hands. 2. Put first first 8 ingredients in large bowl. 3. Mix up the ingredients using a big spoon to get your meatloaf mixture. 4. Spray nonstick cooking spray onto lasagna pan. 5. Form two loaves from the meatloaf mixture on the lasagna pan. 6. Put in 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for 40-45 minutes. 7. Bon Appetit! One day I found a recipe for a 7-layer dip on one of my twitter feeds. I then thought to myself, "What if I turned that 7-layer dip into meatloaf?" Thus my 7-Layer Dip Meatloaf was born. Here's the recipe: You will need: 1/2 onion, sauteed in olive oil 2 eggs, beaten 1 cup of tortilla chips that has been crushed in a food processor(it's approximately 45 chips, but YMMV) 1 tbsp. olives, drained 1/4 cup of refried beans 1 tbsp. taco seasoning(or you could substitute that for chili pepper, cumin, paprika, and oregano)* 2/3 cup of Mexican cheese blend(or you could use a mixture of Monterrey Jack, Asadero, Cheddar, and Quesadilla cheeses, shredded) 3 tbsp. of sour cream 1/2 cup of mild guacamole 1/2 cup of mild salsa 1 pound of extra firm tofu that has been chopped Pinch of Salt(Not in video because i forgot) Nonstick cooking spray Lasagna Pan 1. Wash your hands! :) 2. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. 3. Add first 11 ingredients in large bowl. 4. Mix all of those ingredients together. 5. Spray nonstick cooking spray on lasagna pan. 6. Form two loaves in the lasagna pan, using your washed hands. 7. Cook in the oven for 40-45 minutes. 8. Bon Appetit! *I used McCormick's Gluten-Free Taco Seasoning mix: http://www.mccormick.com/Spices-and-Flavors/Recipe-Mixes/Gluten-Free/Gluten-Free-Taco-Seasoning-Mix |
